It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Artie Belick. He is survived by Joannie, his loving wife of 63 years; daughter Cindy, (GD) Bella & Brooklynn (Justin), (GGS) Terri & Darrin; daughter Carleen and son Randall (Brenda), (GD) Amanda & Alyssa, (GD) Amber (Richard), (GGS) Cruz, (GS) Dustin, (GD) Vanessa (Julian), (GGD) Gemma, and (GGS) Jaiden Brody. Artie was predeceased by his daughter Candice and grandson Brandon; his mother Mary (age 13); his father Zarko (age 17); sisters Julie (Charlie), Lena (Norm), Anne (Milt), Kay (John), Rene (Val), Mary, and Mildred; and his brothers Jack (Vicki), James (Tina), and Bill (Mickey).
Artie was the youngest of 11 children born in Zehner, SK, and moved to Regina at an early age where he graduated from Balfour Tech. He worked for COOP refinery in Regina for 13 years and lived in 2 out of the 3 homes he built in Regina. 1964 Artie moved to Calgary with his wife and 3 daughters and in 1966 their son Randall was born. He worked for western COOP fertilizer for many years; in between shifts he built their forever home in Mapleridge. Artie later moved into real estate and home building starting his own company CJ RAND Precision Home Builders Ltd. where he built many homes.
Artie loved sports, music, and dancing. He was great at jiving and met Joannie at Trianon Ballroom. Artie played baseball for the Regina Red Sox, and hockey for the Estevan Bruins, Milestone Warriors, and Ponteix Penguins, and coached the fertilizer plant hockey team. We take comfort that our loved one is free from pain, never forgotten by his devoted family as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Interment on June 4, 2021, at Rockyview Garden of Peace Calgary, AB. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta (https://parkinsonassociation.ca/).
