Arda Frances Straub

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arda Straub, nee Iverson, on May 27th, 2025, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

Arda is survived by children Janis (Vincent) Brass, David (Laurie) Straub, sister-in-law, Doreen Bell, brother-in-law Dwayne (Dianne) Straub, one niece and three nephews, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Arda grew up in Saskatchewan but planted her roots in Calgary, Alberta where she worked as a Librarian for the Shaganappi branch of the Calgary Public Library. After retiring, she moved to Kelowna and enjoyed playing golf and cards and social outings with friends. Arda loved collecting art, making friends, and the outdoors. She was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, with the Toronto Blue Jays being her favourite team. She was fiercely proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them all. 

A special thank you to Arlene and Ola in unit 83 and Ashley and Max in unit 84 at the Rockyview Hospital. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to a cause of your choosing. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
