Tony was very ready to see his children again and he left us for that final journey on Thursday, November 18, 2021. He moved on from the RockyView General Hospital in Calgary and the family sincerely thanks the staff on Unit 93 for their kindness and compassion during Tony's brief stay with them. As well as his entire medical team during this last 18-month journey, especially Dr. Hao and her staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Ken Storey and Rita Barber, in his birthplace of Kingston, Ontario. Tragically, Tony lost his son James (age 7), daughter Paula (age 5), and ex-wife Carol to a house fire on Dec. 12, 1995, in Kelowna, BC.
Missing their brother and "Uncle Toe Knee" forever will be his big brother Mike (wife, Margi, and daughter, Corinne and her children), and his sister Patti. Tony lived life on his own terms and made many friends along the way. He had the uncanny ability to always think outside the box to find solutions to impossible mechanical problems and there was no one who could beat him at chess. He was our "beautiful mind" in many ways. Tony will always be remembered and sadly missed. Fly with your angels, Tony - kiss the kids for us.
Tony's family will be celebrating Tony's life in private and his friends are encouraged to gather on their own in his remembrance.
