Anthony Bundell peacefully passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 68, after a long struggle with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. He was surrounded by friends and all his adult children through a video call. Music was playing in the background from his favorite CD The British Invasion.
Bunny, as everyone knew him, was born July 21, 1957, in Aldershot, County of Southampton, UK. He is survived by his four children Sasha (Kyle), Sofie (Soren), Sean and Markus as well as two granddaughters Else and Karen. He is also survived by his sister Gina, nephew Stefan and brother Robert.
Bunny was predeceased by his mother Gladys and his father George.
Bunny grew up on the Isle of Wight where his older sister and brother still reside. His nephew Stefan was more like a younger brother to Bunny. They both shared a love of music and performing.
Bunny attended the Newport Technical College and Isle of Wight College of Arts and Technology launching him into a career in aviation as a structural technician. His work on aircraft not only lead him around the UK, but also all over the world including Europe, Australia, Asia and, of course, Canada.
It was his 14 years in Denmark where he learned to fluently speak the language and start his family. Three of his four children were born there. Bunny was very proud of his training and time with the Danish Reserve.
Leaving Denmark, Bunny headed to Canada. First to do contract work for de Havilland Aircraft in Toronto and ultimately to Avmax Group in Calgary. He quickly became a Program Manager, managing technicians doing heavy maintenance on Dash 8’s and CRJ aircraft.
Bunny was always an outgoing, happy and humorous person. Always the life of the party. It was these character traits that moved him into sales and marketing at Avmax. Bunny was a natural born salesman.
Bunny finished his aviation career as Director Technical for Avmax Aircraft Leasing. This role once again took him around the world to interact with customers and ensure Avmax aircraft were being well maintained by the lessee.
Despite all his traveling and hard work, he found time to work on his classic car passion projects, home improvements and still make time for his friends.
In 2017 Bunny was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. This horrible disease slowly robbed Bunny of his faculties but never his humor. He remained happy, funny and loved by everyone that interacted with him right to the end. He will always be loved, remembered and cherished by those that called him dad, friend, coworker and of course, Bunny.
“You will never walk alone.”
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:8-11
God of all seasons,
The day is done. The night has come.
My soul sinks slowly into your rest, trusting now in the resurrection to come.
Amen Lectio365
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate care Bunny received from the staff on the Willow Park wing of Intercare Southwood. They connected with Bunny and he with them. He never lost his sense of humor and was a favorite of the staff.
A celebration of Bunny’s life will be held in July on a date and location to be announced.
