It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Aninha on Wednesday, October 09, 2024, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB surrounded by her beloved children at the young age of 88, just a month shy of her 89th birthday.

She was the beloved mother of Alex, Flory D’Souza, Elvira(Terry) Blunsum,  Donaldo, and Maria and adored grandmother to Maria-Theresa Blunsum and Carlo Blunsum.

Aninha was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio Caetano Carvalho; son-in-law John D’Souza; parents Joaquim Rosario and Deodita Maria Carvalho; siblings, Anthony, Joseph(Clare), Dr. Guilherme. She is survived by siblings Domnic(Stella), and Simon and many nieces and nephews  

She will be greatly missed by her family, relatives, and friends who knew her and whose lives she touched here in Canada, the USA, Kenya, India, and around the globe.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW) on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:30 am with The Rev. Bogdan Sianozecki presiding. A recording of the Funeral Mass is available below. Visitation from 9:30 am until Mass time. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
