Amelia Margaret (Peggie) Kruyssen passed away unexpectedly at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
She was born in Alton, England, on October 29, 1932. She came to Canada in 1949, arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia, via Pier 21. She then traveled by train across Canada arriving in Calgary. She moved for a short time to Lethbridge but returned to settle in Calgary.
Peggie will be lovingly remembered by her children; Glenn, Grant and Peter (Kim), Heather and Karen; her grandchildren, Brent, Gregory, Lindsay, Jennifer, and Joshua; and her great-grandchildren, Issac, Logan, Myla, Noah, and Emmett.
Peggie is also survived by her sister Patricia in Australia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggie was predeceased by her husband; Cornelis (Kees) parents; William Wilkinson and Alice Blasco (George) and her sister Carole.
Peggie raised five children and was a kind, caring, loving, patient, and dedicated mother and wife. She encouraged her children to do the best they could in anything they tried and unconditionally supported them in their endeavors.
For many years, Peggie was an active participant in Aquacise and TOPS Club, where she made timeless friendships.
Peggie also loved nature and often went to Fish Creek Park and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. She could easily identify most birds by their song and habits.
Peggie enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers in her yard and making pickled beets and raspberry jam.

A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Nativity Anglican Church, located at 12707 Bonaventure Drive SE Calgary, AB T2J 4P4 on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 1:30 PM in the afternoon.
Immediately following the Memorial Service, relatives and friends are invited to gather for some light refreshments and meet with the family in the Church Hall.
