Allan, loving husband of Valerie Podesky, passed away on March 14, 2026 at 76 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved daughter Tara Rae.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Val, his two sons Mark (Jeanette) and Brent (Chantelle) and three wonderful grandchildren Simon, Emily and Ava. Allan is also survived by his seven siblings Joan, Norm (Chris), Teresa, Patricia (Keith), Gordon (Dalyce), Larry (Terri) and Tom, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Allan was born in Calgary to Ann and Roman Podesky, the third child of eight. He attended Mount Royal College where he studied computer science. In 1973, he began his 48-year long career in the financial investment industry which he enjoyed beyond measure.
Allan exemplified the true spirit of a Calgarian, friendly, welcoming and always willing to lend a hand. He volunteered as a Special Olympics coach in basketball, bowling and baseball. He was a Scouts Canada leader for Cubs and Beavers. He was also a multiple Snow Angel recipient from the City of Calgary. Up until the time of his passing, Allan volunteered for the ReStore/Habitat for Humanity. In addition, he could fix almost anything. He was a true “MacGyver”.
Allan had a passion for country music, travelling the world and working in the garage on his many projects. Above all, his love of his family was always the most important focus of his days.
Allan will be remembered by his family, friends and colleagues as a wonderful caring man who touched the lives of everyone he knew, and he will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026, at 10am at Providence Chapel, (149 Providence Blvd SE). If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta.
