Ron Emil Cassidy

Ron E Cassidy, 69 of Calgary, passed away suddenly on May 9th 2017. Ron was born in Coaldale AB, on August 17th, 1947. He was the 2nd of 5 Children to Dale and Margaret Cassidy. Ron graduated from the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and went on to a career in the Agriculture Service Industry in Calgary. Calgary is where Ron called home, and that is where he met and married his wife, Judy. Together they raised Heather and Gregory. Ron always enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be Hunting, fishing or camping. Ron was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. Ron was a blessed man when it came to his grandchildren, 7 in all, and all living in Calgary. All you had to do was mention grandchildren and his face would lite up the room.

Ron was predeceased by his parents Dale and Margaret, Judy, and his sister Susan Krueger.
He is survived by his daughter Heather Drayton (Barry, Abigail, Katherine and Sarah) and son Gregory Cassidy (Linda, Taylor, Colleen, Hannah and Carter) all in Calgary. As well by his 2 sisters Phyllis Bruyckere (Wayne) of Calgary, Peggy Gilmour (Jim) of Carsland, his brother Dave Cassidy (Judith) of Summerland BC and his brother in law Norm Krueger of Sundre. He is also survived by his 6 nephews, Rick, Sam, David, Sean, Will and Josh.

Ron was a fixture in Lynwood, where he was a respected neighbor, and known for his generosity. He will be remembered by many, and missed even more.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 - 2 Street SW) on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
