Janet French

FRENCH, Janet (nee Surfleet)
February 13, 1921 - December 3, 2016

Janet passed away peacefully at the Mckenzie Towne Retirement Residence, Calgary. She was born in Lincolnshire, England. In 1952. Janet and her husband Basil emigrated to Canada to begin a new life with their young family. Janet and Basil had 5 children: Ananda French (deceased), Henrietta French (Ronald), Lise Kent (Richard), Piers French (Gillian) and Susan Baker (Michael). Janet has 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Janet loved the outdoors, and in particular horseback riding in the Nanton area along side her husband. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and for many years the parish housekeeper. Janet will be interred at the Queens Park cemetery alongside her husband Basil Haywood French (1914-1996). The family extend their sincere thanks to the caring staff at the Mckenzie Towne Retirement Residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church (321 - 90 Ave SE) on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 am. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Mustard Seed.
