Allan Roger Pettigrew

Allan Roger Pettigrew was born March 15, 1945 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. He was the fourth of five children, second son to Arnold and Amelia Pettigrew.

Allan was a very likeable person who made friends easily . If anyone knew Allan, you knew that he was a hard worker and loved his family. He had many interests, he loved hunting and fishing in his younger years, taking the opportunity to be out in nature. He also enjoyed watching football & hockey. But out of all the things he was passionate about, his greatest passion was his love for horses. He loved them ever since he was a youngster. He always said that "quarter horses were the fastest to start". When he could no longer ride, he met his passion for horses at the race track.

Allan also had a knack for cars, which he enjoyed buying and selling over the years. If you needed a car, "Big Al the Consumers Pal" was your man. He could honestly sell ice to an Inuit. He also owned & operated several restaurants in his time. Allan enjoyed taking charge in the kitchen and loved good food. Chinese food was one of his favourite cuisines to indulge in and it led to his starting a "family tradition" of Sunday DimSum.

Above all Allan loved his three little girls very much and he always let them know it. They have fond memories of family vacations, trips to Lics ice cream parlour and of Allan spoiling them , as he could not bare to see them go without.

Allan is lovingly remembered by his beloved sons Kelly (Phunee) Card, Michael (Lisa) Card, Daughters Ashley Pettigrew (Lorence Bouvier), April Pettigrew (Terrence Hinds) & Amanda (Edivaldo) Da Silva. Granddaughters Amari Pettigrew, Ashley Card & Grandson Kanin Card.
Sister Leona (Cliff) Eagle, Brother Larry (Maureen) Pettigrew.

Allan was predeceased by his parents Arnold & Amelia Pettigrew, Brother Kenneth Pettigrew and Sister Gloria Kidwai.

Allan also has extended family in and outside of Calgary along with many dear friends who will surely miss him. He will forever & always be held dear in our hearts.
