Zoe (nee Arvanitakis) Petropoulos

It is with sadness that the family of Zoe Petropoulos, announce her passing on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 84 years. In 1956, Zoe bravely left her hometown of Gastouni, Ilias, Greece, to find her future husband Nonda, in faraway Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Zoe spent the next 60 years devoted to Nonda, doting her love and attention upon her two sons George and Larry while faithfully committed to her church, and community. Zoe and Nonda's six grandchildren; Zoe, Nonda, George, Nonda, Kosta and Lukas, were above all else her life’s most satisfying achievement.  Zoe’s long brave struggle with Alzheimer’s did not keep her from sharing a sweet smile to all who greeted her. We owe an enormous thanks to the caregivers and all the staff at Carewest Garrison Green for their compassionate care and support and a thank you to Carol-Lyne for the time she spent with Zoe.  Mom we love you so much it’s time for you to rest - George (Maria), and Larry (Margaret). Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW) on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
