It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Victor Eleftherios Alefantis. Our beloved Vic fought a courageous battle in the last years, and now is in the arms of our Lord and his beloved father Thanasi. He was the brightest star in our universe, and will forever be remembered for his quick wit, his larger than life personality, his gigantic heart full of love for all, his strength of character, and most importantly his value of family. He is survived by the love of his life, Melanie; his two sons, Thanasi Alexandros and Theodoros Victor; his mother Nina; his brothers Bill (Vasso), and Nick (Maria); his nieces Katerina, Penelope, and Anastasia; his nephew Thomas; as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr Jason Weatherald, and the entire staff of the Pulmonary Care Unit 39 of the Peter Lougheed Center who cared for Vic and ensured his comfort throughout the last few weeks.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at the Peter Lougheed Center (through the Calgary Health Trust) (800, 11012 MacLeod Trail SE, Calgary AB, T2J 6A5; 403-943-0615; https://www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca/) or Scleroderma Canada (#203, 41 King William Street, Hamilton, ON L8R 1A2; 1-866-279-0632: http://www.scleroderma.ca/).
