It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tracy Warner, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary at the age of 58 years. Tracy was born on January 24, 1961 at the Calgary General Hospital to Joe and Gail Pederson. Graduating from Western Canada High School, Tracy went on to marry the love of her life, Frank, on July 21, 1979 and together they raised two daughters. They enjoyed many adventures together, including traveling around the western provinces and states on their motorcycle, camping in the mountains, and enjoying winter vacations in the Caribbean. Tracy also worked at a paint store for many years until she retired a couple of years ago, and fondly appreciated her co-workers and the customers she grew to know. Tracy will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a great listener full of direct, to-the-point (but loving) advice. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and reading a good book. Her heart belonged with her family, and she enjoyed nothing more than having everyone together for a good backyard barbecue and fire. Tracy is survived by her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 40 years, Frank; daughters Brandi-Lee (Brad) and Nicole (Derrick); parents Joe and Gail Pederson; brother Darrell (Tammy); five grandchildren – Ryan, Emma, Kayla, Zoey and Corbyn; and many other family members. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Tracy’s family through www.evanjstrong.com. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Lupus Society of Alberta (Suite 900 105-12 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2G 1A1; 403-228-7956; lupus.ab.ca), Crohn’s and Colitis Canada (3100-246 Stewart Green SW, Calgary, AB, T3H 3C8; 1-888-884-2232; crohnsandcolitis.ca), or the Canadian Cancer Society (55 St Clair Avenue West, Suite 500, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 2Y7; 1-888-939-3333; www.cancer.ca). The family wishes to sincerely thank her medical team at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Foothills Hospital, as well as the Southwood Hospice for the care and attention they showed Tracy during treatment and her final days.
