Timothy John Nicholson

Tim, age 58 years of Calgary, Alberta, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 15th, 2017 at his family home in Central Butte, Saskatchewan after succumbing to a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tim, the son of Delwin (Shorty) and Mavis Nicholson, was born in Central Butte on November 24th, 1958. Until his illness he was employed by ExcelAir of Calgary as a plumber. Tim enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, motorcycling, photography, music and gadgets of many sorts. Tim was united in marriage to Barbara on July 11th, 2008, who provided loving care to the end of Tim's life. He was predeceased by his father, John Delwin (Shorty) Nicholson; sister, Theresa Lynn Nicholson; and brother, Sheldon James Nicholson. Tim is survived by his wife, Barbara Nicholson; mother, Mavis Nicholson; son, Colin Nicholson (Angie); stepdaughters, Breanne and Tori; brothers, Warren Nicholson (Robyn) and Blair Nicholson (Michelle); grandchildren: Macy, Emery and Aubrey Nicholson, and Wyatt and Whitney Grant; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was a man of very few, but very wise words. His steadfast loyalty to friends and family will be sorely missed by many. It is with grieving hearts that we finally say goodbye to a great man. Two services will be held for friends and family. A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held on Monday, August 21st, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tugaske Community Hall. A second celebration will be held in Calgary, AB at the Delta Calgary South Hotel, 135 Southland Drive SE on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu flowers, donations may be made in Tim's name to the Palliative Care Program - Five Hills Health Region Home Care, Crescent View Clinic, 131 - 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0Y9 or Calgary Zone Home Care Services, 200 - 2580 32nd Street NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 7M8.
