Rosalie Anne "Rose" Herard

We celebrate and honor the remarkable life of our beloved Rosalie Anne (Rose) Herard, who passed away at the age of 77 years and is now with the Lord.

Rose is the wife of Denis (53 years), mother of Dave (Lori) and Chris (Maureen), grandmother of Matthew, Kristina, Benjamin and Madeleine, sister of John (Sue) Mandrusiak, Mary (Bernie) Zolner, Orest (Mona) Mandrusiak, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, as well as brothers Walter and Bob.

Rose lived for her family and the community. She was the #1 fan of her sons, daughters-in-law and her grandchildren and all they did.  Rose’s time and efforts as a volunteer have been honoured by many awards and recognitions. She invested over 47 years volunteering with the Willow Ridge Community Association, including helping envision, plan and realize the building of the Family Leisure Centre (now Trico Centre). She loved her three decades volunteering at the Calgary Stampede. Rose also dedicated many years to Sacred Heart Parish, St. Bonaventure Parish and the Mount St. Francis Retreat. The establishing of the South Centre Youth Justice Committee, chairing committees on the Community Lottery Board and the Calgary Regional Arts Foundation were just some of the ways she made a difference in the lives of so many. Rose’s loving spirit and tremendous generosity and kindness will remain in our hearts and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 14 Street SW) on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Greg Coupal presiding.
