Ronald Doornbos

Ronald “Ron” Doornbos, born on November 13, 1957, passed away peaceful surrounded by his family in Calgary, AB on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 60 years. He was predeceased by his wife Lou, and parents Adam and Henrietta. Ron is survived by his daughters Danielle and Adrian; siblings Derk (Linda), Herman (Anna), and John (Debbie); and many nephews. He made many contributions to the Calgary running community, specifically, “his race”, the Harvest Half Marathon. Ron was an avid road and cross-country runner and was also involved with Cycle Therapy. He was a keen outdoorsman, loving all seasons and activities. Ron had a lengthy and successful career in telecommunications, mainly at Telus. He was an amazing father, who was extremely proud of his girls. Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at Mid-Sun Community Centre (50 Midpark Rise SE) on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
