Robin Vaughn Thorne

Robin Thorne of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the age of 54 years. Robin was born on March 11, 1965 in Calgary, Alberta.

Robin's greatest accomplishment was her son, Sloan. She was a very kind and giving person. Robin found comfort and healing in her creative spirit. Her favorite hobbies were drawing, crochet, paperwork, clay work, wood work and photography. Robin loved being out in nature and enjoyed learning new crafts. There were many people that deeply loved Robin and she had a multitude of friends.

She was predeceased by her mother, Beverly Ann Tremblay; her sisters, Shawn O’toole and Julia Thorne; and her grandparents, Percy and Rose Thorne. Robin is survived by her son, Sloan; sisters, Mischelle (Lonnie & Friesen Family), Naydene, Rondine; brother, Arlond; adoptive mother, Eileen (Bernie); Aunt Kathy (Ed); foster, mother Sandy; foster sister Darcy; ex-husband Dean; ex-mother in law Bev (Anderson Family); as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robin will be greatly missed and will always be known for her playful sense of humour and her wonderful laughter that would fill a room and everyone in it with absolute joy.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Evan J Strong Funeral Services (5502 2nd Street SW) on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
