Roberto Rafael Hernández Alvarado (English version)

November 26, 1963 ~ January 2, 2020 (age 56)

Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved son, husband, father and brother, Roberto Rafael Hernandez Alvarado, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday January 2, 2020 at 4:30 am at the age of 56 years.

Roberto will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his parents Roberto and Ana, his wife of 22 years Monica, his daughters Ana and Camila, his siblings Luis, Ana and Veronica, his mother-in-law Esther, his sisters-in-law Patricia, Esther and Fanny, his brothers-in-law German, Dionisio, and Teofilo, his nieces and nephews Carlos, Dayana, Luis, Stefany, Valeria, Julieta, Adriana, Eleana, Rubeana and extended family and friends.

Roberto was born in Valencia, Venezuela; he was a mechanical engineer and worked in the Oil and Gas Industry back home, which allowed him to grow as an honest human being. He settled in Punto Fijo, where he would meet his wife who would accompany him on his journey through life and with whom he would start a beautiful family.

Life led him, like many, to leave his homeland in 2007 and arrived in Calgary, Canada, to provide a safe space for his family. Roberto was a family man with a big heart; he was sincere and passionate about his ideals, he was a valuable person in his profession, and a person who found God’s way and never lost Him.

He had a passion for books, history, astronomy, cars and sports, especially football and his unforgettable Barcelona team. From his travels, photography emerged as a hobby that he enjoyed and which allowed him to keep memories of his family. He was a detailed planner, both in his work and personal life.

Roberto, alongside his family, worked faithfully throughout his life for the Glory of God and his beloved Catholic Church, leaving a great mark in the hearts of all he had met, which is a testimony of the great man he was.

Today, his family would like to thank all his friends, especially, to all who belong to the Holy Spirit community:  Alejandra, Carlos, Roraima, Gladys, Luis P., Dorys, Luis A. and Fredy, for all their prayers, words of encouragement, memories, compassionate care, visits, loving kindness, and selfess love for Roberto.

May his memory be eternal.
