Richard Harry Styranka was born to Ray and Anne on June 4, 1959 in Saskatoon and passed away suddenly on November 21, 2019 in Calgary. Early in his life, Rick developed a touch for auto body work and cooking. His favourite car was the 1964 Chevy Impala. He was fond of cooking meals he’d savoured as a child and teenager, like shipwreck. He also loved making stained glass, going to garage sales, and antique stores. Rick always had a sincere smile and hello for strangers. Those who loved him knew his thoughtful, caring heart. If he had extra money, he tried to help people around him in his community. He volunteered at soup kitchens. He shared wisdom gained from his own health struggles to help others with theirs. He often gave thoughtful gifts because he was thinking of you. The world was a better place with him in it. Rick is survived by his father Ray, sister Laureen, brothers Ray (Sandra), Mark (Carrie), Chris (Dawn), and Mathew (Megan); as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and Inurnment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Inn From the Cold (www.innfromthecold.org/donate/) in Rick’s memory.
