Raymond Milne was born in Virden, Manitoba on December 8th, 1971 to Kenneth Milne and Marlene Thiessen. Later Ray moved with Marlene and his sister Sharon to Calgary, Alberta where he grew up enjoying family times, comic books, and attending youth group through Thornhill Baptist Church.
In his early twenties he pursued a career in special effects in Toronto where he met Allison Plowright. They moved back to Calgary in 1997 and were married in February 1998. Ray and Allison enjoyed taking walks together, talking over coffee, and going to the movies. In April of 2006 their first son Elijah was born, and Aidan followed in January of 2008. Ray landed a job as a litigation support person at three different law offices, the last being Field Law. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making funny videos with funny voices with Aidan and roughhousing with Elijah. He also enjoyed drawing (as he was quite a gifted artist), reading, and tying flies for fly fishing. His favorite movie was "Jaws”, but he and Allison also loved the Marvel movie series. In May of 2017 Ray was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer and fought bravely, growing closer to Jesus in the years before he died. He passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2019. He is survived by his mother Marlene Milne, his sister Sharon, his wife Allison, and his two boys, Elijah and Aidan.
Ray, you were such a special and unique person; an attentive and supportive husband and playful dad. Our hearts break from this loss, but the burden is lightened knowing we will all be together in the glory of heaven.
Ray's celebration of life will take place at Centre Street Church (3900 2nd Street NE) on Monday July 15, 2019 at 11am.
