Raymond George Cherer

Ray passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 80 years. He was a native Calgarian, who grew up in the community of Inglewood. Ray attended Western Canada High School and SAIT, where he took Refrigeration Mechanics. He worked at Bruce Robinson Electric, Eatons, SAIT, finally retiring from the Calgary Board of Education. Following his retirement, Ray enjoyed many activities with the Calgary Board of Education Retired Employees Association and his Thursday golf group. His favourite past time was stopping at garage sales and visiting Calgary's thrift stores, where he picked up many treasures. Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie; daughters Alison and Lindsay (Robb); grandchildren Shea, Skye and Kenna. Ray was predeceased by his parents Thelma and George Cherer.
A Celebration of life will be held at Lakeview Community Hall (6110 - 34 Street SW) on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
