It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Hickey, on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the age of 60 years. He was a husband, dad, papa, Harley lover, Patriotic Newfie, and bologna loving man. Even though he fought a long, hard, difficult battle, he was the guy who would always brighten everyone else’s day and do anything for anyone. He passed surrounded by his loved ones and went peacefully to the pearly gates, where he hoped to be greeted by his friends and family up there already – and all you can eat fish and chips (maybe some Newfie music sprinkled in there too). He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Rest peacefully, until we meet again. It was Pat’s wishes that we didn’t gather in sadness, so please celebrate him by having a beer and toast to him! There will be no formal celebration of life. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Chinook Hospice (1261 Glenmore Trail SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2V 4Y8; 403-258-0040; https://www.intercarealberta.com/hospice-calgary.html). This is where we all spent the last few weeks with Dad and the staff there all loved him so much. They would do and did do everything they could to make him smile, laugh and most importantly make him comfortable. Arrangements in care of EVAN J. STRONG FUNERAL SERVICES. (403) 265-1199
God saw you getting tired,
and a cure was not to be.
So, He put his arms around you,
and whispered “come to me”.
A golden heart stopped beating hard,
working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best
