It is with deep sadness that we announce that Patricia Ralphene Bielish (nee Bolinger), known as “Pat” to friends and family, passed away on April 15, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
She leaves behind a loving husband of fifty-three years, Mervin Joseph Bielish; four children, Aaron (Kathy) Bielish, Sarah (Cornelis) Swarttouw, Amanda (Allan) Voysey, and Kathryn Bielish; and two beloved grandchildren, Andrew and Laura Bielish. Also mourning her passing are Pat’s brothers and sisters, Ann (Egil] Hansen, Walter (Janet) Bolinger, Stuart Bolinger, Audrey (Raymond) Johnson, and Sheila (Eldon) Konschuh; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Viola Ralphene and Elmer Bolinger; as well as her sister-in-law, Gwennyth Bolinger.
Pat had a zest for life. She spent her summers joyfully working in her large flower and vegetable gardens and was always interested in trying to grow something new and innovative. She loved foraging for wild mushrooms in the fall and fiddleheads in the spring. Pat had a passion for harvesting her own grapes, currants, raspberries, strawberries, chokecherries, sour cherries, high-bush cranberries, apples, black currants, gooseberries and musk melon. She was especially proud of her wide variety of vegetables and her asparagus patch. Pat was also an expert at crocheting and knitting, and created many tablecloths, sweaters, baby clothes and blankets, all with her special touches. She loved her family dearly and supported them in any way possible. Pat supplied many with produce from her garden, delicious homemade jams, jellies, and preserves, or a snuggly afghan. Her generous spirit will be missed.
