Patricia Mary (Joyce) Veilleux

Patricia Veilleux (nee Joyce), beloved wife of Charles, passed away peacefully on October 17th 2018 at the Bethany Centre in Cochrane, at the age of 95 years. Born and raised in Calgary, Pat attended St. Mary’s Girls High School and then went on to work at the Hudson’s Bay store downtown. Charlie served in the Canadian Navy during the war and finally managed enough time to get married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Calgary) on June 20, 1945, just 2 days before Pat’s 22nd birthday. Pat loved her family dearly and was very close to her parents, Barney and Mary Joyce. She always had a special bond with her three sisters, all sadly predeceased and greatly missed, Colleen (Tom) Fairs, Moyna (James) McIlhargey and Betty Kelly. Their big brother Emmett (Florence) and younger brother Garry rounded out the Joyce clan. Charlie and Pat raised 5 awesome kids, Joanne (Larry) Hopp, Caren (John) Leslie, Charlie B (Pam), Tim (Lisa) and Tom (Wendy), all who were born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary. She was blessed with ten grandkids, Mike (Linda) Hopp, Rebecca (Greg) Evans, Jessica, Danielle, Ben (Cassandra) Leslie, Sarah Leslie, Aimee (Chris) LeGrow, Justin, Matthew and Tyler; and then came ten great grandkids, Aidan and Emily Hopp, Mackenzie and Kaitlyn Evans, Jack and Stella LeGrow, Seb and Theo Leslie, Mason Dorego, and last but not least, Ethan. Pat loved being with family and shared her enthusiasm for group gatherings, hiking and camping with everyone she knew. Also dear to Pat are her extended family made up of numerous nephews, nieces, their spouses and kids, the Fairs family, the “Macs” (McIlhargey’s), the Kelly’s and of course the Joyce’s.
