Nancy Wood Obituary

Nancy Lynne Wood (nee Harding) passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday November 27, 2019 surrounded by loved ones and holding the hands of her family.

Nancy was born on March 5, 1955 in Edmonton, Alberta but lived most of her adult life in Calgary. Her time with us will be celebrated and cherished by Larry, her husband of 45 years; son Nathan (Sarah); and daughters, Rebecca and Kristen. She is also survived by her mother Maxine (Tony); two brothers, Grant (Glenda) and Craig (Joanne); two sisters, Cathie (Peter) and Vivian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by her best friend Barbara Bedient; brother-in-law Mac; and nephew David, all of whom joined Nancy in a courageous struggle against cancer. Her father David and her grandmother Elsie also left us far too soon.

Given Nancy’s passion to occasionally play a few games of craps with her sister and nephew, her celebration of life will be held at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino (3770 Grey Eagle Drive, Calgary, Alberta, Hotel Entrance in the Crow Flag Room) on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:30pm.
