Nancy (Wilson) Hall

Nancy Ann Hall (Wilson) passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 87 years. She was born on April 7, 1930 in St. Catherines, ON and grew up in numerous towns and farms in southern Ontario. Nancy graduated from the Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951 then worked at the Calgary General Hospital mostly as an operating room nurse until her retirement in 1982. She married Roy Ritchie Hall in 1954. Nancy is survived by her children Russ (Liz) and Doug (Gail); siblings Liz, Barb, and Wendy; grandchildren David, Jen, Andy, and Jessie; and great-grandchildren Anika, Henry, Nova, Kurt, Aubree, Presley, McKinley, and Kaydence. Her parents Maurice and Anna Alberta Wilson, husband Roy Ritchie Hall, and brother David Wilson preceded her. Mom attended Renfrew United and Wild Rose United Churches and was a dedicated choir member of each.  She was a champion of women's rights, including actively supporting the Calgary Birth Control Association and Planned Parenthood. Her passions included reading, music, traveling, and enjoying good times at Sylvan Lake. She was an avid birder, loved her dogs and watching baseball - especially the Blue Jays. We will always remember mom for her gifts of acceptance, understanding, generosity, and kindness. She was a strong woman who positively affected the lives of many. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Wild Rose United Church (1317 - 1 Street NW) on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm.
