May 25, 1926 ~ September 6, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old
Muriel Tuck passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the age of 91 years, with family at her side. Muriel was born on May 25, 1926 in Edmonton to Roger and Dorothy Ray. She was third oldest in a family of six siblings and she took an active part in the day to day chores on the farm. In young adulthood, she moved to the city of Edmonton and worked for a time as a waitress. It was there that she met and married Lyle "Bud" Tuck. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Saskatchewan where Bud was employed in the oilfield industry. Eventually, they moved to Calgary and Bud started his own business, L.R. TUCK OILFIELD CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE. Muriel remained at home, trying to keep up with the demands of a busy and fast-growing family. After Bud's death in 1973, Muriel continued to operate the family business until she retired. When grandchildren began to arrive, she became a loving and devoted babysitter and taxied them to and from. She was an avid supporter of all their school and sports events, including soccer, la-crosse and especially hockey. Muriel; was a diehard Calgary Flames fan for years and had Flames and Stampeder season tickets. She also enjoyed bowling and for years was a member of a local league. She loved to garden when she found time. Muriel is survived by her children Ron (Gaye) of Calgary, Deb Steinke of Montana, Sherry (Randy) Nault of Calgary and David also of Calgary; grandchildren: Vicky and Darrell Tuck, David and Adam Steinke, Ryan Nault and Braeden Tuck; great grandchildren: Sadie and Riley Tuck, and Maddison and Dalton Steinke; brothers: Gordon (Millie) Ray, Oliver (Linda) Ray, Dennis (Tess) Ray and Sister Pauline (Don) Cramer; and is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
