Michael Wong

Michael was born in Macau to a wonderful family and he was particularly close to his mother and brothers. He deeply loved and respected his eldest brother Wong Wing Cheong and sister-in-law Wong Sau Ping. He was a life-long learner and came to Canada to study Engineering and obtained his Master's Degree in Ontario.

He met Karen, his wife of 45 years in Hong Kong through family friends. They started their life together in Toronto and Montreal, then moved to Calgary where they put down their roots. Together they had two daughters, Margaret and Joyce; two sons-in-law, Brent and Rich; two grandsons, George and Ethan; and two granddogs, Sundae and Mondae.

Michael was an exceptionally kind man who spent hours taking care of the family house and cars, helping his children with homework, lending his expertise to the Calgary Chinese Alliance Church, and building a beautiful garden for Karen. He loved nothing more than spending time with close family and friends and was always making new friends. Michael also enjoyed reading, developing websites, and travelling. He enjoyed trips all over Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia.

On the morning of November 21, 2019, after opening his eyes during the beautiful sunrise, Michael passed away peacefully in the company of his wife and daughters. We miss him dearly and are grateful that he did not suffer. He joins his mother, one of his brothers and several close friends in Heaven.
