Melody Appelman

Melody Appelman passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, July 5th in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 52.

Melody is survived by her mother, Erica Forrester; siblings, Rob Forrester, Gail Schafer; and daughter, Abigail Phyper. She is preceded in death by her father.

Melody was born on February 18th, 1966 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. She graduated from the University of Natal, with a Bachelor of Science. In 1994 she left South Africa with her family to start a new life in Canada. Her co-workers, friends and family will remember her as a driven, brilliant woman; caring and compassionate friend; and a fantastic cook who loved to laugh with a glass of red wine. Her daughter will remember her as an incredibly strong, patient and loving mother and role model, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams.

A celebration of life is scheduled for July 13th, 1-4 PM at The Lake House, 747 (Lake Bonavista Dr SE, Calgary, AB T2J 2M2). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Melody’s life.
