With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Maureen, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all she met. She will be dearly missed and live forever in our hearts. Born and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Maureen moved to Calgary Alberta to continue raising her family. She worked at St. Francis High School in the guidance department until she retired, focusing on her love of family. Maureen was passionate and proud of her family, and there are lots of them! Faith, friends, bridge games, Flames and Stampeders games filled what space was left in her heart and there was always room for more. Her legacy of love is left with her children: Donna (Mike), Connie (Jim), Kelly (Melinda), Roland (Bonnie), Terry, James (Janine), Michael (Cynthia), Colleen (Chris) and Colin; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and special companion, Joey (the cat). She was predeceased by her first husband, John Korbet (1956), and Fabien Tremblay (2011). A special thank you to the staff on Unit 32 at the Foothills Hospital during her final days. Funeral Mass to celebrate Maureen's life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at St Luke’s Catholic Church at 2:00pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to The Kidney Foundation
