It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret (Marg) Kathleen Gordon (previously Zederayko) who died peacefully in Calgary in the hospital with her family on August 1, 2019 at the age of 83 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Glenn Zederayko (Claire Foley) and Elan Harper (Robert); and her grandchildren, Kathleen and Elizabeth. Marg was predeceased by her brother, David, and her sister, Isabelle.
Born April 18, 1936, in Saskatoon, Marg graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Science. Marg lived in Saskatoon, Dawson Creek, Edmonton, and Oakville, before moving to Calgary in 1971.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who worked tirelessly to enrich the lives of her children and grandchildren. Marg was chauffeur, playmate, and mentor to her grandchildren, greatly enhancing their lives with her efforts.
She loved her large garden, her cat Corky, and the close group of fun-loving friends from her bridge club – forever known as “the bridge ladies”.
A celebration of Marg’s life will be held at the Lake House (747 Lake Bonavista Dr. S.E., Calgary) on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm, with a formal program starting at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marg’s memory to the Calgary Humane Society (www.calgaryhumane.ca). Marg’s family thanks the caregivers and medical professionals at the McKenzie Towne Long Term Care Home and the South Health Campus for the wonderful care they provided.
