Lillian Elizabeth (Carroll) Elhatton

With family by her side, Lillian died peacefully in her sleep at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Our Mom was a very loving and caring person, with a stubborn streak that she enjoyed sharing with the people close to her. Home is where she loved being the most, enjoying coffee and a smoke on the deck and watching the sunrise. With daily prayers and scripture readings, the Lord was an important and meaningful part of her life.

Lillian was born in Regina, Saskatchewan.  After her mother passed away on her second birthday, she and her three sisters spent the following 9 years in several convent boarding schools, while their brother was sent to a boy’s school. Eventually they lived together again as a family in Regina in 1953. After high school, Lillian became a certified hairdresser and stenographer before moving to Winnipeg in 1960, where she met and married Glenn. With three children in tow, they moved to Calgary in 1972.   

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Annie Carroll; her husband, Glenn; and a sister, Eileen. She will be dearly missed by her son Tim (Christa), grandchildren Chelsey (Kyle), Jordan (Fatme), and great grandchildren Atticus Grey and Noor Lily; daughter Theresa (Sheldon); and daughter Glenda (John), grandchildren Mariah (Jonathan), Katarina and Levi. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Danny (Marion); and sisters, Margaret and Helen; sister-in-law, Shirley; and by all her treasured nieces and nephews.

As per Mom’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Mom’s memory to the charity of their choice.
