In 1976 he moved to Calgary and taught High School Math at Chestermere High School and became Math Department Head. Jerry retired in 2007. At Chestermere, he coached basketball and volleyball and spent many off hours tutoring his students. He loved teaching and was very dedicated to his students.
After retirement, Jerry found his niche volunteering his time taking care of seniors and their needs. Jerry loved his family and in his own words said, “We are so blessed to be raised in a large, farm family. We had fantastic parents and the best brothers and sisters. What wealth!”.
