James Kenneth Beckie

Jim Beckie passed away on Sunday June 17, 2018 at the age of 60 years. Jim was born and raised in Calgary. He attended Bishop Carroll and received his Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary. While raising a family with Darcy (nee Ronald), he accomplished his Masters of Chemical Engineering and his MBA from the UofC. Jim enjoyed working in the Calgary oil patch for his 40-year career. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved the mountains and introducing his four children to all the activities he enjoyed. Jim will be sorrowfully missed by his wife of 40 years Darcy; children Nik (Laura), Elisha, Miranda (Declan) and Josh; grandchildren Jaxson, Alex, Ryelan, Kolton and Madilyn; parents Ken and Helen Beckie; siblings Joe (Charlene), Michelle (Mark), and Niel (Jacquie); his nieces and nephews; and the Ronald family. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 - 24 Street SW) on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 - 24 Street SW) on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am with the Rev. David Meadows presiding. Graveside service to follow at St Mary’s Cemetery.
