Our Lovely Mother Izzy Nelson passed away very peacefully and beautifully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Izzy was so bright she sparkled! Determined, strong, resilient, fiercely protective and loving with a wicked sense of humour and an appreciation for the odd walk on the wild side! She was teaching us right up to the very end. One of a kind and one of four children born to an equally strong set of parents Ruby and Charles Shepherd of Beamsville, Ontario. Izzy lived a full and colorful life with too many accomplishments to list. She fought hard for those who couldn’t and in recent years worked hard at being a somewhat loud and proud advocate for seniors. Bravo Momma! She was predeceased by her first husband Keith (KJ) Armstrong and her second husband Lindberg Nelson, brother James (Mary), her sister June (Joe), and brother-in-law Bill. Surviving are her baby sister Beverly McNiven; nieces and nephews Diane, Paul, Robert, Michael, Donna, Cindy, Louis and their families; children Leslie, Brock, and Donna Armstrong; grandchildren Alyssa (Fiancé Daniel Richaud), Samantha (Fiancé Kurt Kemp), Devin (Jessica) Marshall, Brent (Alicia) Marshall, Dillon (Jasmine) Armstrong – Walker; great-grandchildren Tristan Marshall, Austin Marshall, Hunter Marshall & wee Deh’rek Armstrong-Walker. We Love you to the moon Momma...rest now...fly be free! Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Izzy’s family through www.evanjstrong.com.
