Hugh Ralph Thompson

Hugh Thompson passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Southwood Hospice at the age of 65 years. He was the husband of Remedios Thompson, and they shared 26 years of marriage together. He was also the father of Joseph (25) and John (24). Hugh enjoyed watching Calgary’s sports teams, exploring nature, and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as someone who truly embraced the idea of “never giving up”. He was an extremely determined individual and always believed in hard work. In September of 2016, Hugh was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and it was determined his illness was terminal. On the evening of Sunday, April 22, 2018, his hard fought battle came to an end. Hugh touched many of our lives and will stay in our hearts forever. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Cathedral (219 – 18 Avenue SW) on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 am.
