Horst Zahn

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and dear friend Horst. Dad lived a full, interesting life filled with many adventures. His love for the outdoors kept him active throughout his retirement years and one of his greatest joys was being around his grandchildren sharing in their accomplishments. Dad will be sorely missed by his partner Althea; son Perry; daughter Angela; and granddaughters Ashley (Kevin), Allyson (Nathan) and Margo (Chris). Dad is survived by his sister Ingrid, brother Wolfgang, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Kate and Otto and his sister Renate. A special thank you for the fast actions of the paramedics and Dr. Dave Choi emergency doctor at Foothills Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Van Dyke and the nursing staff on Unit 62. Dad’s last days were peaceful at the Sarcee Hospice. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. McDonald and the nursing staff for your care and compassion over the years in the care of our Father. As per Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place. Celebration of life will be held at the Boardwalk Retirement Community (3520 – 31 Street NW) on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm in an open house style.
