Gordon James LaChance

With heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of Gordon LaChance on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Left to mourn is Florence, his wife of 50 years; brothers Robert (Lorraine) and Allan (Marlies); and his children Debbie and David. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who adored him. He was predeceased by his mother Nora Bijou; his father Roche LaChance; and his brother Marshall. Gordon was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a Forth Degree Knight. He was also a lifetime member of the Calgary Academy of Chef’s and Cooks. Gordon proudly volunteered for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed Saturday morning golfing with the “Dirty Dozen” at Bearspaw Country Club. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 24 Avenue NW) on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 am.
