Gerald Nathan DeMings

Gerry passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at Bethany Riverview in Calgary, Alberta. He was born in Carlton Village, Nova Scotia. Gerry made his living as a commercial fisherman, farmer, long haul trucker and part time cowboy.

He will be sadly missed by his longtime partner and friend, Maretta; eight children, Cheryl, Dan, David, Susan, Jerry, Cindy, Crystal and Michelle; sons and daughters-in-law; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his five surviving siblings; and many nieces and nephews .

A small private service will be held for Gerry in Winnipeg at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff and Bethany Riverview and Vulcan Long Term Care Centre for their care and to family and friends for the prayers and condolences. Gerry’s obituary has also been published in the Winnipeg Free Press.
