George Breen Obituary

We are saddened and heartbroken to announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather, George Bruce Breen.

He was predeceased by our wonderful mother, and his soul mate, Katchen Breen as of November 2014. George is survived by his daughter, Joanne; granddaughter, Ashlee and great granddaughters, Isis and Phoenix. Our father was an amazing man. He touched everyone’s lives with respect and kindness. His love and loyalty to family, friends and animals, knew no limits. George was always there for everyone.

Our father was a jack of all trades. He was a small store owner in the Altadore community in the early 1970’s, a student, a locksmith, and an inventor. He loved to learn and could always be seen walking in the Marda Loop community. The one career choice he was most proud of in his early life was his military career. He loved serving his country and was proud. George served 20 years, from January 1951 to October 1971. He was honorably released as a Platoon Sergeant, wearing the Korean medal, United Nations medal, the Korean volunteer medal and the Canadian Parachute Badge. Our lives will forever be changed, as he was everything to us. His memory and legacy will always live on in our hearts.

We would like to welcome all who knew George, to a Memorial/ Celebration of Life. We will be holding the Memorial Service on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Legion Branch 285 (9202 Horton Rd SW).
