Frieda Wagner

Frieda Wagner of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Born in Poland, Frieda immigrated to Canada in 1952 and married Simon later that year in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Frieda was an amazing seamstress and loved to sew and knit. Her grandchildren quickly learned that their Omi could sew and fix anything.  Omi spent many hours knitting slippers, mittens, tuques and blankets for her family, friends, and even total strangers.  Many new born babies left their hospitals with Omi tuques. Frieda enjoyed vacationing with several trips to Europe, a Mexican cruise, and winter vacations in Hawaii. Frieda is survived by her loving husband Simon of 65 years; her sons Herb Wagner (Lorna) and Gord Wagner (Vicki); grandchildren Jennifer Wagner, Mark Wagner (Ashleigh), Brandi Brown (Jeff), Justine Schrader (Steven); great grandson Blake Wagner; sister Eda Guse (Arnold); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held at Shepherd King Lutheran Church (804 - 75 Avenue SW) on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
