It is with great sadness that the Moore family announces the passing of Elsie “Les” Moore on June 26th, 2018 at the age of 59 after a long and courageous battle with MS and then Cancer. Born to David and Lydia Penno, Elsie began her journey on March 4th, 1959 in Calgary Alberta, and was the second youngest of five children (Dietmar, Trudie, Harry, Elsie, and Roger). She is survived by her loving Husband Peter (married 36 years), and her two daughters Kaila and Kelsie. She will be missed by all who knew her as she was such a kind soul who always put others’ needs before her own.
No matter what life threw at her, Elsie was an ultimate fighter with an abundance of patience and the most positive attitude. She had a passion for music which was carried throughout the family and she was the most loving wife, mother and friend. Her kids were her life and she was so proud of both of her daughters. She was blessed with two grandchildren (Edison and Alice), and loved them with all of her heart, and even when her health was declining, she was always willing to babysit and help out any way possible.
Elsie always exuded kindness and had a smile on her face, even when she was dealt a difficult hand in life. She was a fighter to the very end and prided herself in being independent despite her disability. She enjoyed the simple things in life and never took anything for granted.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone who took the time to visit, the wonderful staff of the Gyne/Oncology unit at the Foothills Medical Centre and the Intercare Southwood Hospice for taking great care of her in her final weeks. We really appreciate each and every one of you. xoxo
