Dr. Russell James Paul Sawa

Dr. Russell Sawa passed away in San Diego, California on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 73 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Catherine (Keith) and Jennifer (Tyler); son, John (Jen); grandchildren, Eloise, James and Will; as well as his brothers and sisters and many nieces, nephews and their families. Russell moved to Calgary in 1978 where he practiced Medicine and Family Counselling until 2015, mostly at the University of Calgary. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, colleagues and patients. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 – 2 Street SW) on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Divine Liturgy will be served at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (704 – 6 Street NE) on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 am.
