Donald Seel, a caring, dedicated, hard worker passed away at Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the age of 76 years. He was a 50 year veteran of TV and radio, reporting in both Saskatchewan and Alberta. He began his broadcasting career at CJGX radio and television in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, then moved on to CHAB in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In 1972, Don came to Calgary to take on assignments at CFCN radio and television and later on moved to CFAC radio and television. Don worked with Ed Whalen and Joe Carbury, two of Calgary’s most notable broadcasters. In January of 1984 Don had taken the responsibility of sportscaster at 66CFR, which entailed the covering of the Calgary Flames home games. That lasted more than two decades. Following that, he worked at Campages as a successful sales rep. During the last few years he enjoyed being a marriage officiant for Service Alberta. Don is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Julie, son Shawn, and by many loved grandchildren. Don will also be remembered by his daughter-in-law Myrna Seel, brother-in-law George Wong and sister-in-law Tina Lam. In addition, his mother-in-law of Vancouver will truly miss him. Memorial Service will be held at Evan J.
