Desmond Frederick Holden

With sadness we announce the passing of Desmond Holden on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the age of 94 years. Desmond was born in Calgary, AB to Kathleen and Morgan (FM ‘Tiny’) Holden, with his twin sister Beatrice. He was predeceased by his loving wife Adelaide, his parents and sisters Myfanwy and Beatrice. Desmond is survived by his children Joyce, Kevin (Trish), Elaine, Angelique (Lloyd) and Morgan (Maureen); grandchildren Maria (Chris), Ryan (Teresa) and Blair (Kelsey); great grandsons Alexander, Christian, Nathan and Dominic; and his brother Arthur. Desmond was known for his inventive mind, his ability to create something from nothing, his poetry and storytelling, his love of horses and cats. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 Street SW) on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Blvd SW) on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 12:00 pm.
