David Emil Stecker

David passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 6, 2016 with his long-time partner, Patricia Gardiner, at his side. In his final months, David struggled with a spinal cord injury and finally succumbed to cancer. David moved from the USA to Canada in 1972 and settled in the West, close to his beloved Rocky Mountains. He was an outdoorsy guy who loved hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping. David was a great musician and had a wide circle of friends in the Bluegrass community. He will be remembered as always one of the last to leave a jam. David will be remembered with love and humour by his many friends, neighbours, co-workers and by his family. In keeping with David's wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. A musical memorial will be planned for late spring to share songs, stories and memories of David's life.
