It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of David George Rogers, of Calgary, Alberta on November 7, 2019, at the age of 69 years.
David was born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, November 6, 1950, then moved to Calgary as a young man. David was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to everyone, young and old. He was outgoing and enjoyed talking to and meeting new people. David was funny, sarcastic, stubborn, fearless and competitive. As a young man, he spent his weekends doing what he loved, dirt biking and racing. He also reveled in camping with family and friends, even participating in the odd Super Soaker water fight. David enjoyed playing games, whether it be board games, crokinole, cards, darts, pool or lawn darts (the "original" lawn darts only!).
He was always up for having fun. David will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Demetria Rogers (Mike) and Laureen Rogers (Anthony & Nolan); his sisters, Elaine (Gary), Dianne (Gary), Janet and Shelia; his brothers, Allan (Cindy), Michael (Krista), and Keith Rogers (Marge); as well as numerous other family members. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Muriel Rogers, and his wife and best friend, Leona Rogers (nee Fraser). Theirs was an unmatched love and a testament to what true love really is and should be. Some would argue that he passed of a broken heart that day in 2015 when Leona passed on.
David traveled where he wanted to travel, laughed at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix and loved who he wanted to love. He will be deeply missed by so many who loved him.
