David Lorne Mannington

It is with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dave Mannington, age 72, on Thursday, June 15, 2017 after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Dave was born in Wales; grew up in the Coaldale area of Alberta; and spent most of his adult life in Calgary. He was a kind, honest and gentle soul who loved his family and always treated people fairly. He had a passion for the outdoors - running, hiking, backpacking, camping, scuba diving - and spent countless hours walking urban trails with his best friend Goldie. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Goldie; daughter Paula (Denis); son Perry; two grandsons, Merrick and Delano; sisters-in-law Claudia (Bob), and Kathy; brother-in-law Gerald (Char); step-brothers Doug (Thelma), Duane (Pat), and Ray as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Jeanetta and Eric; brother Bob; Grandma Hunter, brother-in-law Clem, and step-sister Lorna. Dave will be deeply missed by all he knew and touched.
