Carlos Francisco Gomes

Carlos Francisco Gomes passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Diana Estorninho Gomes, father of Carla (David) Moreal (deceased in 1999) and Mia (Dave) Dykstra; grandfather to Michelle, Calvin and Melody. Carlos was a strong family man, with a keen sense of humour and a charming personality.  The family emigrated to Toronto in 1968 where Carlos landed a job at the McLaughlin Planetarium where he worked for 27 years.  After three years of retirement, Carlos and Diana made the move to Calgary, where they have lived ever since. Carlos was a very proud grandfather, never missing Calvin’s lacrosse or hockey games or Melody’s soccer games.  When the opportunities arose, Carlos shared special times with his granddaughter Michelle, who lives in Toronto.  He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends, but to honour his memory, he would want you to remember the good times he shared with all. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Blvd SW) on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 1:00pm.
