Bruce Alexander James West

Bruce West passed away in the afternoon of Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at the age of 73 years. Bruce is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his wife of 52 years, Bev; four children, Brian, Robin, Debi Bannatyne (Dave), and Greg; as well as six grandchildren, Liam, Ayla, Mack, Carson, Cooper and Alicia. Born in Comox, BC, he grew up in the small town of Flin Flon, MB and had many valuable memories of time spent with his extended family as well as at their summer cabin. The heart of his life was lived in Calgary, AB, where he had the good fortune to move to the street where he met his wife Bev. He worked for many years in Calgary's oil and gas sector as a Joint Venture Auditor and then in his later working years he managed a senior home in Calgary and then in the Crowsnest Pass. His sense of humor was evident to all those around him, whether it was being used to lighten up a social gathering or joking with hospital staff. He was an active member at Crescent Heights Baptist Church for many years, and later at Westlife Church. Though his last 10 years of life were filled many health issues due to his diabetes and kidney disease, we choose to remember the man who deeply loved his family and wife and was an amazing dad and husband. He was a man of few words but was always there cheering his heart out in the crowd at his kids sporting events and later with his grandkids many activities.
